On crimewatch just now it showed a girl's rape and then from the cctv it said he was wearing a watch on his right arm then the woman said it was unusual. why was it unusual?
I am right handed and wear my watch on my left wrist, however both my father and my daughter are left handed and also wear a watch on their left wrist.
I'm left-handed and wear a watch on my right wrist, but my daughter is right-handed and wears hers on her right wrist too. I always thought left-handers wore watches on the right, but evidently not. Must be just a matter of preference, but having said that I haven't noticed many other people wear watches on the right. Sorry, not a good answer i know, just more of a comment I suppose.
I'm right-handed, wear ma watch on ma right wrist and I stir ma tea anti-clockwise. When I used to go to the barbers to get ma hair cut, the barber would always go to put the shade on the left but I had to tell him ma shade was on the right.
It is simply because when all watches had a winder, the winder was positioned so the watch could be wound up by the right hand whilst worn on the left wrist - because the majority are right handed.
If such a wrist watch was worn on the right wrist, the winder would be on the 'wrong' side for winding.
