I am a big fan of French films and have been told that a film called 'Girls Can't Swim' is well worth watching. Does anyone know of any UK retail shops that are likely to stock French films? Preferably on DVD but if not possible, then VHS is OK.

BTW Ebay is also a good source of DVDs, but be wary of pirates. A-har!

Thanks Dave. Is it safe to buy used stuff from Amazon? Am I likely to get ripped off?
It's very hard to guarantee an original DVD these days - I buy a LOT of stuff secondhand from Ebay AND Amazon and have only been stung on the former. If you buy second hand (i.e. from an Amazon re-seller) there is always a slight chance of getting a pirate, but nowhere near as high as on Ebay. If you buy new from Amazon themselves you're fine - I believe their stock is sourced from the same suppliers as, say, HMV or WH Smiths. If you were to get a dodgy DVD from an Amazon re-seller I'm pretty sure you'd be able to pursue it through Amazon themselves, and for that reason alone I think Amazon sellers are more likely to be trustworthy.
