As far as I can gather, it was called The Miss Marple Theme, Ron Goodwin wrote the scores to those films. For more info see: http://www.rongoodwin.co.uk/
I'm sure it's called 'Murder At The Gallup' because it was the theme for that film, and then used as a general 'ident' in future films, but that's from memory rather than a confirmed source.
