Just done a bit more research, and A Certain Sacrifice was originally filmed in 1979

It's definitely A certain sacrifice. Madonna sent in a large letter explaining to the director why she was qualified to play the part. He was looking for a streetwise girl and when he saw Madonna's picture and read her determined letter he was sold! He wanted her to play the part. In fact Madonna was the only one who got payed for her part in the film. But she had to give up all her rights to the footage. Five years after the taping of this film Madonna was famous (after the first album). She watched the film with the director and told him it was good! She left calling him an asshol, because the tape would haunt her for years. We can still see clips of it on MTV. Please forgive my bad Englisch, I'm from Holland, love Robbie

Actually, you are all wrong. The first film Madonna appeared in was a short film made by someone in her high school in which she wore a bikini and had an egg fried on her stomach. A Certain Sacrifice was the next, but the first to be sold commercially.
