can anyone confirm that the beach landings in the film were shot in ireland and did anyone see the cast / crew

Yes they were filmed in Ireland, and my uncle was in it!!
Somewhere south of Dublin I believe.

davetuc, thanks for your responce, what part or role did your uncle have? did he keep any souveniers?

About 150 people were used as soldiers, locals etc. I think he "borrowed" a fake rifle and forgot to give it back!!!
