Hi Mountainboo,

I absolutely love it! i started off by watching it on ch4 every morning while i was getting ready for work now i am hooked, i have the first 2 series and i think that there are 4 or 5, you can get them off of Amazon or play.com I think that they are about 20.

Happy watching.....
Awesome name you got there! ;-)

There's 9 series, not sure where you can get them all, possibly Amazon? I ummmm errr downloaded them (blush).

And yep, it is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time.

that reminds me of the other one too- have you seen Everybody Hates Chris? Also good, getting quite into that one as well.

Cheers Boo, tiz good name isn't it, lol.
9 series, wow that's loads. Who's your favourite character, apart from ray obviously, his dad is brilliant. Haven't seen everybody hates chris, although have seen it advertised, will watch it when I get a chance.
can I be the only one to say, I hated it when it used to be on while I was getting ready for work and now its back on. Arrrrrghhhhh. Thanks for listening :-)
You did ask so -

comedy is subjective, and I may well adore something you don;t like but ....

I loathe everything about this series! I find Ray creepy and subserviant, his dad is a dreadful man, his mother is creepy and needy, his brother sounds like a mutant, and the entire interaction between them is uncomfortable in the extreme.

Just about the opposite of your attitude I know, but I felt it fair to reply with a little balance.
Hi there ypu can get the first three series at least from Channel.com I got them and they were about 24.99 per box set, there are about 6 disks in each one and each disk has six episodes so hours and hours of fun!!!!
thats is exactly how I feel andy. Its american humour. Hey I know its american but at least with shows like friends or simpsons they accomodate for british audience. I dont find it funny.
lol Andy, I thought that at first, but Mr Boo was addicted and watched it constantly, and that's what got me started.

Favourite character? Hmmmm, think it's Debra, how she puts up with them all is beyond me!
I love this show. Yes , they are a dysfunctional family but it's the oddness of the characters which makes the show and keeps drawing people back for more. Personally , I think that the quirky one liners are hilarious and each character brings their own unique quality to it. I couldn't pick one favourite character because they are all entertaining in their own way - Debra as the long suffering wife , Marie as the stereotypical , interfering mother-in-law who won't let go of her sons , Frank as the acid tongued father who keeps up the pretence that he is hard faced but every so often lets the mask slip and shows that he does care deeply for his family - even if he doesn't always know how to show it - Robert who is just a big useless lump and feels as if he is living in the shadow of his brother and not forgetting Ray of course - the boy who never grew up.

There have been some poignant moments in the show where you get a real feel for the characters emotions and it stops you in your tracks. I contacted channel 4 a while back when they stopped broadcasting it on a friday night and was told that it was due to a lack of interest in the show but that it would air again on it's original morning slot. What a pity. I'm loving watching it again on Paramount though.

The one the other night there where Debra had hired the babysitter who was adored by her kids a bit too much and made her feel redundant was really funny. I may not relate to the characters as such but I have come across some people like this (albeit in a less exaggerated form) and some of the issues mimic real life and I think that's why people enjoy this show. I enjoyed watching Friends in it's glory days but I hate it now to be honest as I find it so bland and unappealling. Once you've seen it you've seen it but Everybody Loves Raymond is fresh and quirky. Long may it last !
Loved watching the series, and another gud un is 'Kings of Queens'
