I know this sounds morbid but how did sonny as in sonny and cher die me and my friend are a discussion over it can any one help?

I believe it was a skiing accident. Im tempted to say he hit a try cartoon style but Im not positive about the details.

Correct Comloulou. Salvatore 'Sonny' Bono died of head injuries after skiing into a tree - January 5 1998.

You are right Comloulou. Sonny Bono died on Jan 5th 1998, aged 62, whilst skiing alone and colliding with a tree. He suffered fatal head and neck injuries. This happened at the Heavenly Ski Resort on the Nevada / California stateline.
