Oh dear....
Yet ANOTHER bl00dy remake!! Is there nobody with an original idea in their heads left in Hollywood?
Question Author
Why not remake Ben-Hur, Jaws, and Starwars too? Nothing's sacred anymore - proven when they killed Willie Wonka.
why is it when they re-make a British film they have to Americanise it. It will be crap!!!
and this is why the americans are despised when it comes to films. The get our film sand virtually rape them. The latest is that 28 Days Laters has a sequel - 28 Weeks Later. Set in England, directed by a spaniard and involving the US army coming here!

For gods sake! dont ruin such a classic british horror!

See here - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0463854/

because they cant think of any ideas of there own. True America do make fab movies but why remake British ones. There re-making everything. Soon nothing will be original anymore.
Whickerman says why not remake Ben Hur.

Does he mean the 1907 version, or the 1925 version, or the 1959 version ?

See, remakes are not new.

Ouch- point taken. But still think this one's a really bad idea...
maybe the american audience wasnt aware of this british movie ?
I don't know about wickerman, but i can't help wondering:
Is there ever a good Cage?
He was good in 'Raising Arizona'..but that's about it!
I saw the original as part of a double bill - well B and A films as they were then - yes I am that old - with Dont Look Now. Talk about being scared s***less!!!

I was fully expecting someone to come and rescue Edward Woodward so was really surprised when he died!!
Have the americans run out of ideas?
Cennet, I STILL wait for that to happen each time I watch the movie!
That's another point. Given Hollywood's track record of changing endings to make them cosy and happy (The Vanishing, anyone?), what's the betting that Cage's character does escape in this one?
So do I Pippa68 - as I am an eternal optimist I sometimes think the ending might have changed since I last saw it.

I do this with many films that I have seen several times- why????
