Unknown BBC2 sitcom

Can anyone remember this comedy series that was on BBC2 a good few years back. It was filmed in the same format as Seinfeld (ie stand-up/sitcom) but was an English production, and the main man was a guy with piercing blue eyes. Can't remember anything more than that, other than it was very, very funny!
