personally i never really got into columbo, but you cannot beat Jessica Fletcher or Dick Van Dyke.

Seriously though I think that they are each as good in their own respect. But Diagnosis Murder tops it for me

At first I was irritated that Diagnosis Murder didn't seem very accurate medically.It still irritates me that they constantly use mobile phones in hospital (unless they have different equipment and rules in the US).But I have to admit I love that programme.

Has anyone else noticed how often in American cop shows the detective has a personal connection to the suspect or victim?

I love Columbo - my dad's obsessed and I was brought up watching him but I also love diagnosis Murder, Quincy, Joan Hickson as Miss Marple and Mark McManus as Taggart.

I have never enjoyed Murder she wrote although i love angela Lansbury in films and I have started to watch Sue Thomas FBI
