Does he mind the mildly suggestive jokes made at his expense, by Victoria Coren Mitchell at the end of Only Connect?

No idea, I doubt it
Is this relevant? After Only Connect began having its broadcasting schedule affected by another programme on BBC Four hosted by television presenter and former Conservative Member of Parliament Michael Portillo, Victoria began ending the show by saying the next show would be a special hosted by Portillo with some ridiculous title. Some examples include a competition program about art gallery curation titled Michael Portillo's Well Hung, an interview show with British expats which that week featured Ben Elton titled Michael Portillo: Ben's Over, or the history of optometry discussing how eyeglass frames used to be made of oak, elm, or ash titled Michael Portillo: Eye Wood.

Portillo seems to have a good sense of humour, and a vanity. I bet he's flattered
I got that.
a little speech after a good Only Connect
portaloo does this an that and University Cack up is cancelled

and the link man said - no you are gonna get univeristy cack up. This turned out to be quite good.
Very slow about Hardy and Bockhampton
I suppose people know different things nowadays

did portaloo object
quite honestly I am surprised anyone noticed besides myself so I think "no".

I doubt it, he seems to have no problem accepting when the laugh is on him, and has a sense of fun.
if that were the case - blaah dee blahh
then it is a throw back to 1963
TW3 was followed by some awful crip they (TW3) didnt like - a repeat
so they started giving the plot away in the final seconds of TW3. They stopped showing the repeat

dated and specialised

even I wouldnt do something like that - not even with a long explanation attached
Portaloo's a bit like Des O'Connor. He enjoys a laugh at his own expense if it shows that he's a sport. I disliked him as a politico, but as a TV personality he's alright. Love his dress-sense, and his lips really turn me on.
well you may be in luck Atheist !
he had a boyfriend at Cambridge appparently

altho honestly who does what so long as they dont frighten the horses, is not matter of importance to me.
PP; Now you mention it, I do remember the odd stallion rearing and staling, as though frightened or excited. What could that have been all about?
Portillo's brilliant so get off his back...........OOPS
It's been said that Michael Portillo enjoys innuendo.
I would not think he will lose too much sleep over it, he is an experienced man who can handle such things.
My first husband, the one that left me for a bloke, met him a few times before he lost his seat. Really nice man, Never mentioned any bleeps on the Gaydar, would have quite enjoyed being the wronged woman in a political scandal.
There's time yet, Rowan.
"he is an experienced man who can handle such things"

Michael Portillo tries his hand at Holding a Ball
Rowan //before he lost his seat// sounds painful.
I didn't see it. What were the jokes alluding to?
One of my best friends has him as her secret crush..... She's a strange woman, from a village near Waterford if I remember aright
Read Barrys post @ 18.21 237SJ
Rowan is that the same friend that has a crush on Stephen Fry?
Strange lot in Waterford, Rowan. Can't understand a word they're saying. Not like us here in Kerry.
