One of the things that helps me along during the daytime as I work from home sitting at my desk ; helping my employer to keep the folding coming in ;is watching re-runs of the defence attorney, Perry Mason .

What struck me is almost all the women actresses are beautiful .

I wonder if that was a conscious decision by the casting director

I believe Hollywood operated a ban on ugly women until 2017. It wouldn't have bothered Raymond Burr, who was gay.

Really , I didn't know that Raymond Burr was gay .

I've been waiting for Mason and Della to have a bit ,of romance between them , but I understand that it didn't happen in the series .

Barbara Hale was a looker , wasn't she ?

she was rather. But she obviously couldn't distract Perry Mason from his lifelong quest of getting up the DA's nose.
