I really enjoyed it. Yes, Sean was guilt-ridden over what happened in Helmond and realised that, in defending him as they did, his solicitors were merely paving the way to get Faissal released.
Can't exactly remember what it was but something was mentioned in an earlier episode about Hannah and terrorism. Perhaps that's why she was killed.
The only other way this series could have ended would have been for Sean to end up dead - therefore no threat to the joint UK/US joint venture.
Sure, Rachel joined them but she still has the incriminating evidence to fall back on if needed - perhaps in series 2??

I prefer my dramas like this as opposed to those that take the viewers for idiots and explain every single thing. The ones that end by tying up all those little loose ends.

I thought it made perfect sense, Spice. The UK/US intelligence, frustrated at knowing certain people were planning terrorist activities but unable to prove so, had concocted a way to manipulate CCTV to provide evidence. And woe betide anyone who got in the way.
I was in the Regimental Intelligence Section on my third tour of Ulster and i was privy to Confidential/Top Secret files. Of course i read them and i couldn't believe the stuff we KNEW was taking place but couldn't prove it. I'm sure had we had CCTV cameras back in the day, and the technology to manipulate it, we would have done so.

2 minutes later our heroine walked into that room to join the 'scheme'.

I think I get it now, and that our heroine has joined up in order to continue in her mission to expose the murder of Hannah and the corruption of CCTV evidence in series 2.

No, they weren't shutting it down. What she said was that the programme should emerge as a conspiracy theory, a rumour. She also mentioned that in order to keep on receiving funds for the project, plots like Eli's should be allowed to continue.

An excellent series with many twists/turns and it treated the viewer like an adult - it didn’t feel the need for a random character to periodically do an ‘explainer’ to bring the less attentive viewer up to speed.

As the purpose of the ‘Correction’ unit gradually became more obvious, it all rang very true - not so much in the technology, but in the general idea of fabrication of evidence to ‘prove’ an otherwise unwitnessed crime - I could believe it to be happening already.

Series 2? I would guess so - but why bury an excellent programme at 10:40 on a school-night - did the schedulers just not trust the great unwashed to understand it?

watch the secret hx of ireland and concentrate this time. Part three or four is about scappaticci and IS pretty mind boggling

we 'knew' ten or fifteen irish men were bombers when oops they werent and spent 16 y in prison whilst the British sorted their own side out .....

we also 'knew' the balcombe street gang were not responsible for the major part of the bombing in London when oops they were. and that the Reade schedule wasnt a chart for liars to keep track of their lies - - when it was.

and that Denning had said of the irish non--bombers - "if we let one out they will all go and that is a vista too awful to contemplate!" - referring not to a slew of bombers let loose in London but to the fact the judges had been lied to and deceived for at least ten years - see the thread on Fulcher

or as LJ Lane ( or taylor)said finally - if the police choose to lie to me, there is nothing I can do about it.

Absolutely loved it, but wish they'd told us how long Shaun would have to serve in jail. I also couldn't understand the solicitor's role and why Shaun beat him up. I will sorely miss it next week, not least because I liked looking at Shaun !! Hope there is a second series.
