Wasn't that keen on the series but thought the gay/Catholic issue was terribly well-handled and rather moving.

It's one of my favourite programmes on the tele at the moment. It's not complicated, the acting is good and the story lines are interesting.Next week is the last in the series, hope they make some more.

Never been a Sean Bean fan but OH wanted to watch it and have to admit that the whole series has been fantastic.

I'm a convert, and not just because of the priest!

Have always like Sean Bean as an actor, and he is excellent in this.
Gripping story line, as usual, and brilliant acting. Hate the thought of it ending next week.
It was a brilliantly observed episode, I have found it unmissable from the start.
Me too!
Like I've said before, best thing on the box right now !
It's one of those programmes, unfortunately too few, which lingers in your mind long after it is over.
It does ellie and, for me, Sean Bean is mesmerising.
I'm loving it too.
The actress who plays Helen is also brilliant.I think Michael will eventually confess to her that he wasn't asleep the night she rang. Wonder how that will pan out?
She'll probably forgive him ..
Just before episode 1 was aired, i read a Jimmy McGovern interview where he said that the original intention was to have Sean Bean in the first 2 episodes only. Then he realised that they had him for a little longer than was originally the case so McGovern re-wrote much of the series around Sean Bean. I've also read somewhere that there is a possibility of a second series but set in a different parish with a different cast.
Thank you.x
It's quite hard-hitting and very well acted.
Pity it's over. Was the best drama on TV for quite a while. Loved the scene where everyone said, 'Amen, you wonderful priest.'
Last night's episode should have been called 'Mended'.

sounds like another good prog I've missed.
Do hope it's on catch-up or similar
The ending in last night's programme was ridiculous, as was the fruit machine smashing. Shame as the acting was brilliant as it has been all series.
