Dad's Army Or Dads' Army?

Which is the proper useage in relation to the sitcom? I know it is called Dad's Army but shouldn't it be Dads' Army?

As you know, it depends on how many Dads there are.
Tricky one. An army of dads or the army my dad belongs to. I shall reserve judgement.

What does the film title say?
Actually I'm coming down on the side of Dad's Army, otherwise it should properly be 'The Dads' Army'.
Found it, Dad's Army. The army my Dad was in......(along with some other Dads)

The film is Dad's Army but there is no one dad in it. There is no son or daughter claiming a father in the unit. It's an army of dads and granddads, so I think it should be Dads' Army

Before my time but I've always assumed Dads' Army as that is general and makes more sense. But I guess sense wasn't needed.
