They've been showing trailers for this with various celebs and their achievements and then they say "Rylan Clark with over 1 million social media followers"

Surely they could've come up with something better than that?

Who cares?
No intention of watching anyway
So why bother answering the question?

I assume having over a million followers is a bit of an achievement.

Thanks ummmmm, a bit of an achievement yes, but also a bit of a nonentity
Am I not allowed to say that something does not interest me?
If he was a nonentity millions of folk wouldn't have heard of him.
Question Author
Why answer if it doesn't interest you?
What's the point? Answering with 'who cares' is just rude.
I quite like him. Thought he was a bit of a doughnut on X Factor but I've warmed to him on This Morning.

I would have thought being a TV presenter would come above Twitter followers though.
Be interesting to see how he fares in the kitchen.

Mamya, don't you dare put him in your night night thread lol

Bet he cooks something with mince
Asking who cares expects the reply of I do. Perhaps followed by a reason why.
Not meaning to be rude but interested in who does want to watch this.
Does he sing too?
I always hope the ones we mock now turn out to have hidden talents. You never know...

Lol @ Talbots video, would love to see Gregg Wallace stick a 12" kitchen knife in Rylans head if he did that on there
Perhaps you're either old or simply old-fashioned, PankySmooch? ;-)

I don't 'do' social media but I am aware that the advertising revenue of commercial TV stations has dropped by around 90% because of advertisers switching to online advertising in general (and social media in particular). That's because many (mainly younger) people spend far more time engaging in social media activity than they do watching TV.

So if someone wants to become a 'celebrity' these days they might well concentrate on establishing an online presence (rather than appearing on TV).

So perhaps (by modern criteria) Rylan Clark really is a celebrity?

Thanks, Buenchico, I'm oldish but not old fashioned, I do social media, well Twitter not Facebook but that video of Rylan is up there with Mick Philpotts 'crying' and if that makes a celebrity of him to younger people then God help us
I think I gave up being interested in celebrities (if I ever really was) when Samantha Fox became one solely because of the prominence of her breasts.

I despair when I read of councils being proud to get someone from TOWIE to switch their Christmas lights on!
awe thanks.
