At our Elderly Lads / Ladies in the Celebrations in France on the TV News last night, I wonder how many of the Spongers from abroad would soon pack their cases and return home if a war ever broke out here again & they are asked to fight for Britain? Interesting, I wonder.

I don't know, quite a few I would imagine might just as quite a few would fight for the UK. You might want to consider the Spanish Civil War, since that is the greatest source of statistics for ' foreigners' fighting a war in another European country. If my history is correct, and it is, lots of non Spanish people fought on both sides because of what they believed in, so you might be surprised.
