Isn't Hamish the best cat ever?
I haven't seen it - is that Hamish McHamish of St Andrews?
Yes Wolfe. You posted about him on FB.
He is gorgeous and has a great life.

What worried me though was the filming of two cats falling from quite a height to demonstrate how they turned their bodies to land safely. Were the cats deliberately thrown for the sake of the film?
Caran, don't be silly (no cats were put a risk during the making of this prog)

It was just showing in slow motion how a cat lands when it does a jump.

I love cats and thought I knew a lot about them, I know a lot more now.
Hmmmm - didn't see the programme but did it show the secret way they squat on my flower beds every night :(
I have an 18 year old cat who is my best friend, he loves me I know he does and although the documentary said otherwise he has always let me hold his paws like holding hands. The one thing they didn't say was why they sleep so much.

But wasn't it a coincidence that the cameras were there when both cats jumped?
Pips - My cat loved me too. No interest in anyone else. They do feel love or something similar.
My cat is amazing, had him 14 years plus, he has 'touch me' days - when he loves to be stroked and pampered, and 'don't touch me days' when he just cringes if you approach him.
Caran - I read in an article the other day that they dropped the cats ten feet onto a crash pad covered in foliage. Could you imagine the uproar from cat lovers if a cat was injured?

I haven't seen the programme but I intend to watch it during the next couple of days.
Caran, cats run, jump and walk about all the time, all the camera man had to do was watch and wait. I take it you know nothing about cats.
Wolfe...did you watch the one where they put cameras on them?
No ummm - Confession time - I don't have a TV. I hope that it is available to watch online tomorrow.

My little girl is trying to get me to go to bed by headbutting me, meowing in my ear and drooling on my arm. Frankie is sitting on the sofa staring at me. It is quite unnerving.

I have had three cats altogether. First one Muffin I had for 13 years, one day she just went missing. Never did find her.
Second one was Keats, originally called Beethoven, but he didn't know he was deaf as are nearly all cats with a lot of white and with blue eyes. Some children took him away, he got run. Over because he had no road sense.
Last one was Shelley, had her for about 12 years. She developed feline leukaemia. Vet told me I would know when it was time. She was so swollen and one day went for me when I stroked her. I knew then she was in too much pain. Hardest thing I ever did taking her to the vets. I cried for weeks. Am filling up now. She had been my lifeline when hubby died. Said I would never put myself through the heartbreak again. I do get tempted sometimes like after watching that programme.
I'm getting a new kitten next week. I can't wait.
