Anyone seen the program Storage Hunters?

It's never explained but these guys are breaking the locks on storage garages and containers. Who do they belong to?? Don't the owners want their stuff?

If it's legal why are they having to break the locks?

The owners have failed to pay the rent for the storage, therefore any contract becomes null and void and their possessions become the property of the storage firm owners.
It's good telly to see a fat bloke wielding bolt cutters, the master key in the office is sooooo yesterday.
The gang of freaks who pretend to bid against each other are only slightly less annoying than the 'auctioneer' who seems to think that prefixing stated amounts with brrrrrrr lends something to this redneck drivel.

(Not a fan) :)
A ridiculous programme, and obviously fixed. Absolute rubbish, moron fodder.

Rubbish yes but slightly amusing to see a bunch of red necks pay $40,000 for a container full of Chinese rubber bands that were in concealed boxes!
When they don't plant something to find later they look at the items they've bought and put crazy prices on them. In reality they'd have to pay to get them taken to a dump.
Makes me laugh when they bring out absolute tat (stuff that really belongs on the tip) and they say 'great, I can get mega bucks for this' & we think 'you so cant' LOL!
What a hoot it is. I can just see one type of viewer in the USA lying on his sofa in his mobile home, eating crisps, drinking beer and in a holey vest that was once white.
It is very much a fix - but as advised, the part about garage renters who default is true.

The 'auctioneer' is apparently a professional comedian in 'real life'.
