Why is it that the only way you can view Dave on satellite is by giving Sky a big wad of money each month? Seeing as it is on freeview why should this be? I get it via Freeview in my house in the Irish Republic but have to rely on Freesat for my Belfast apartment due to a big hill hgetting in the way.

Dave is on Freesat TV which you don't have to pay for
I find it odd that many of the smaller channels are only available via Sky subscription. I would imagine that their revenue is ad based so surely by going Free-to-air they instantly make the available target larger?

Yes Headwreck I'm fortunate where I am in the Republic being only 25 miles from the border, I have Saorview, Freeview and Freesat there meaning I get the maximum televisual entertainment without monthly subscriptions. Problem is my place in Belfast where thanks to a big hill obscuring the transmitter I only have Freesat. I could get Freeview Light from the Carnmoney Hill transmitter but that only gives basic BBC and ITV/C4/C5.
