A beautiful operatic voice but to me, not really suited to the songs she's singing in the show. Lovely dresses though.

You're right, headwreck. Nothing like these blokes at all. Now she's singing carols - spoiling them more like.
Dont think Flavia's gone any competition with her Argentine tango. And as for the simpering MC
-- answer removed --
I am the only one by the sound of it that enjoyed that show with Katherine and guests. Her singing different genres shows how versatile she is . I thought the MC Mark Benson a bit OTT , however most enjoyable .
Bet she was miffed she only came 2nd in Dancin' with the Stars
On the whole I'm with you Flump.
Opera it ain't, could have done without the unfunny funnyman, 75% of Il Divo can't sing, bit too much vibrato in places but overall enjoyable.
I agree with flump - we loved the show and the choice of guests. The only thing that spoilt it was the ridiculous compere who thought his own jokes were hilarious - didn't need him, but typical ITV I suppose!
Despite the fact that I don't rate her voice at all (not that it's bad just not my cup of char) I thought it was an entertaining, inoffensive hour or so of Sunday night telly ........... agree it should have been nearer Christmas. I agree she murdered the Carols, Il Divo were superb, the compare needs to stick to his sit-coms, and I didn't get why the audience appeared to be in costume (answers on a postcard?) but I thought she was quite an accomplished dancer and the dresses were stunning.
I won't hear a word against Andre Rieu but Katherine Jenkins leaves me cold. I dont find anything enjoyable about her nasal singing and I find her personality insincere and schmalty. Beautiful, wealthy, internationally famous, yet still single....interesting.
Must admit to not liking Katherine's voice or the sort of show it promised to be - light operatic and show songs, etc. Elaine Paige on a Sunday sort of stuff. And yes it is too early to even think about Christmas in my opinion
;o(
She's a pain in the neck!
Very affected in my opinion. Very pretty though I have to admit.
According to Bryn Terfyl she ain't good enough to do opera. She's got a good voice but sings sh1te songs....

How could she let Gethin go?
LOL Quizzy. He is rather scrumptious! To good for her.
I think Gethin's lovely but she's far more ambitious than him and seems to like the celeb lifestyle. She is naturally very pretty but is now over-styled and over made-up and has made herself look artificial. Shame.
As an opera lover, I don't think she's got the voice or the staying power or the dedication to take on a full length opera, certainly not in a leading role. I agree with Bryn Terfyl, she just isn't good enough and he should know, he's brilliant.
I expect there is an audience for what she's doing now so she might as well keep on doing it.
As for Andre Rieu - yuck for the masses - saccharine by the bucketful.
Without having yet looked at any comments on this- I have to say, such is her beauty and vocal talent. I do find her vocal 'attack' and emphasis on the vowel part of almost every lyrical word irritating. To say nothing of a lack of feeling....I do find her quite compelling to watch and on a plus, I did enjoy the humour of her guest pianist despite not catching his name.....Would love to see him again!
I think you have summed up what I think of her voice "Lack of Feeling" And she is almost cartoon like in her appearance. All too contrived. But each to their own.
