Did anyone watch this last night?

I normally love Grand Designs and find Kevin has good ideas about things but I thought this was complete rubbish.

I'm no tree hugger but he cut down two huge, old oak trees and made a big point about how they'd be utilised in this little shed he was building but I couldn't help thinking that there was nothing wrong with them so why did you need to cut them down?

I found the whole thing very egotistical and my opinion on him has changed, he's actually very stuck up and all about himself.

Anyone else think the same?

Will watch it later on catch up and get back to you.

I've never liked him anyway, always been a smug git hasn't he?

I got really bored of XF last night, I was looking forward to turning over to this. Wish I hadn't bothered though.

I dunno, I used to like him but he just came across as a pompous twonk on this.
I quite like Kevin, on the quiet he is a clever chap. Last night was watchable but I was under the impression he was doing it all by himself and being all green. As it was he had a small army of experts and sundry others doing it 'for the experience'. I thought he would at least have consulted Ben Law who built his cruck frame house way back in series 1 or 2. Still I won't write it off and I will watch next week to see if there is an improvement. dtc
I too was disappointed, I mistakenly thought that was going to do it all himself using local products but when the lorry chassis, steel plates, bolts, chain saws, explosives, and mobile saw mill were brought into it I thought that it had veered off track just a little.

Yep, I'm not sure what he was trying to prove.

I thought it was going to be showing you how easy it is to be self sufficient and build your own little life but it's not the rest of us have the access to the experts, tools, explosives, old trucks, etc that he did.
i watched some, always enjoy his shows, not sure the point of his little shed, home from home? but there are more programmes to come presumably.
had he been trying to do this on his own would have taken far longer than our attention spans, or his i suspect.
If he got on with things instead of talking about himself he wouldn't need so many helpers Can't he do anything himself?
