Best Answer I've read the book and thought the film was well done, but it failed to portray just how devastating the outcome was to the father. It took that terrible tragedy to make him realise exactly what he had been doing - and I don't think something so relevant should have been omitted.

I watched it suspecting that I would shed a tear at the end,----- I didn't although the two little lads with many others died my main thoughts were whlst watching the father's face ''Vengeance is mine sayest the Lord''.
I started to read the book shortly after my sister died four years ago but it was the wrong time and I barely read the first few chapters before putting it down...
Ive recorded the film and am now looking forward to seeing it having heard what a great film it is, hanky at the ready though I think :(
