Watching super scrimpers and it is going to cost £218,000 to raise each of my children to the age of 21 - anyone got a spare £million I can have please (what rubbish, how can it cost that much?).

Loss of income is usually in there Sher, but you cant count that 5 times as you only lose it once :)

I'm screwed basically.
we all are - but at least you are trying to work the economies of scale.
My OH said the other day that we'll sell the house when they finish school and give them the money so they get a chance to benefit when they are most likely to need it.........I just looked at him and said "but where will we live?" He just shrugged....not quite sure what that meant :(

True Annie - had an excellent day out today just for the cost of diesel though (a million quid, feel so depressed, it's those stupid logo'd school uniform items that do it!)
Question Author
Annie, could be worse - on the plane home from holiday, himself said we needed two more children so we could have three lots of seats to ourselves (nearly had bloody heart failure).
lol - well I paid 25 quid for No 1 son to be in Out of School care today and yet still had to take time off and stay home cos the idiot took a chunk out his heel while trying to kick No 2 son!!
I raised mine some time ago and it is shocking when you look back .
They cost you a small fortune .If you were to add it all up you would be surprised .
It's so different to when I was young. We never had all the techno stuff for a start .
Once they get on their feet and can talk .....get your purse out :)
Clothes, food, toys , a hundred thousand sticker albums, books, school uniforms ,school trips ,sports gear ,driving lessons ,mobile phones , can I have a TV in my room ..he's got a TV ..I want a TV ... lend us a couple of bob mother ,until you finally wave them ........goodbye !
lol sher - you don't need to have any more, you can take mine, they are only slighty used :)
Question Author
Shaney, please don't - I am starting to feel quite depressed about it all. The eldest is nine years from twenty one and then there's the rest of them!

Annie, that is such a pain - ground them both immediately - one for not being kicked properly and one for not being able to kick properly. x
...if I ground them then I just have to stay in with them more - I should make them stay out instead.
and I still had the hassle and cost of driving No2 all the way to Out of school care and picking him up as there was nothing wrong with him (as he had clearly failed to be properly kicked!)
Question Author
See, this is what they should be teaching in school - how to kick (and be kicked by) a sibling. All this geography, maths, etc - waste of time.
...and you wouldn't need a logo'd uniform for those lessons either :)
Why the hell would a senior registrar need his parents to pay back his student loan?
