New TV Stations

I appear to have new TV Channels, 24 of them to be exact- dedicated to the Olympics. 24??? Really? That necessary? I know it's a big thing, but wow, bit of an overkill somewhat isn't it?

They don't want us to miss a thing.

I don't have sky.
Yep - the BBC said it will 'stream' just about everything in HD on the 24 temporary channels.
I've got 138 just dedicated to chocolate cakes.
Costs them very little for the extra Sky bandwidth and they would be recording all the events anyway.
Ionly watch a few channels, mainly channel 3, 5, 5* and 5 usa, only use the bbc for enders actually, it's such a waste.
I like BBC. It's the main channel I watch.

Me neither ummmm, just Free sat, but I was a bit taken aback by the necessity for 24 channels for it, lol.

Didn't read that SD, blimey, makes you wonder if they'll have enough footage to cover all of them doesn't it? So can we assume that all 24 will be showing different events?

jno-bit dull that innit? I mean yes, eating cakes im all for that (no really, i am) but watching them? No ta :P

Crikey!

Ta SD xxxx
I don't even have freeview. I found I spent all my time flicking through channels and never watched anything.

to be honest ummmm for the last few years we've watched less and less ordinary telly.

Mini Boo watches the odd kids programmes, I watch the occasional documentary and wildlife programme (I adore David Attenborough!) and Mr Boo watches anything sport related that might be on. He incidentally is almost giddy with glee about the upcoming Olympics.
most of them are in 3D Taste-o-Vision, B00.

oh now you're talking jno! ;-)
oh yes.
i'm on virgin - and i've just see the 24 bbc olympics channels .. and the same again in HD. = 48!

not for me -- i'll watch the opening & closing ceremonies - and that's all.
i dont understand how, with no sky, no freeview and presumably no freesat or cable, how anyone can receive bbc1 etc?....but guess I must be thick lol
Wil these be on Freeview?
No space for it all on Freeview.

Just BBC1/2 plus another channel of 'red button' coverage.
That's a pity, Thanks Dave
plenty online thoug....just connect lappy or desktop top pc to tv and it will be ok....as long as your bb is fast enough
>They don't want us to miss a thing.
>I don't have sky.

What is not having Sky got to do with anything?

It is on BBC not Sky.
