I like watching "road films".. car chases, etc, and collect them on dvd or video.  I have Knightrider, The A-Team, The Fast & The Furious, 2Fast2Furious, Repo Man, Driven, Vanishing Point, Gone in 60 seconds... I know there's Convoy, Cannonball run, Bullet, Smokey & The Bandit..

Anyone know any other good ones? I want to see American muscle cars mainly, but don't mind if there's some rice burners in it too.. (jap cars).

Italian Job (old version) and Bourne Identity still have, IMO, the best car chases on film.  However I suspect that's not what you're looking for.

PS - I hope any Japanese users of AB are thick skinned, or not into "film & tv"!

If you collect road movies I'm surprised you have'nt got the best of all, Duel, Speilberg's debut and absolute classic. I sense though that It probably is a bit to unlively for you.

Thanks Quisch, not seen those films yet.. acw, yep, original Italian Job is a great film.. Loosehead, I've seen Dual, very good film. Roadkill is another good film.

Any more?

You've seen it twice then! (Dual) sorry couldn't resist.
There's a great car chase in "Ronin" - realistic, so it lacks explosions!

just to agree with the post above, for the best car chase(s) ever seen in a movie rent or buy 'Ronin' starring robert de niro amongst others.

makes the bourne identity chase look tame(and i am a big fan of that movie)

Another one to watch Kev,  Dirty Mary Crazy Larry.
Days of Thunder, maybe.
You could always watch an episode of the Dukes of Hazard or perhaps Death Race 2000 with David Caradine and Sylvester Stallone.....Classic

Thunderbolt & Lightfoot is another good road film (Clint Eastwood & Jeff Bridges).. some good car chases.. American muscle cars.. a (circa 1970) Buick Riviera, etc

Thanks for the replies.. keep them coming !!

Does the Blues Brothers qualify? good car chase in that.
And how about that g*dawful New Zealand film, Goodbye Porkpie . Thats a road film, but not many people admit to having watched it!
it's quite old now, but Charlie Sheen was in a film called 'no man's land'. quality film with some fantastic cars!

Thanks folks, keep them coming. I bought a 3 box set of videos today in sommerfield 6.99.. Old School unseen, American pie, Road Trip unseen & explicit.

I bought the set for ROAD TRIP as it sounds like a good film.. Josh tows 2 of his college buddies and 1 not so eager kid who happens to own the car on a rucous 1,800 mile trip from Ithaca NY to Austin TX to save his lifelong romance.

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned The Love Bug, Herbie goes Bananas or Herbie Rides Again.
