My driving Licence run out in Febuary.....

Just realized tonight, didn't have a reminder etc, can I do it on-line as knowing my luck will get pulled over if I drive tomorrow?

The photo id licence runs out, you should receive a reminder from DVLA - £20 to renew

The photo licences have an expiry date, 10 years I think, and then it has to be replaced. It's supposed to be possible to do it on line if the DVLA can access a recent photo through the Passport Office apparently My OH went through all this on line then they had to send him the paperwork anyway!

With the new two part licence you have to up date it every ten years but they should have sent you a reminder.

Photo card licences run out at 10 years. Mine is due in August so am hoping I get a reminder in plenty of time.

Renewed my photo id licence at the Post Office but you need the reminder form from DVLA to take with you. They did the new photo too, for an extra £4.50!

Made me remove my glasses too for the photo as they said the flash would cause a glare on the pic,
I was incensed as I wear them all the time but they wouldn't budge. Now I have a new photo id that doesn't look like me!

Mass I had the same problem when I renewed my passport. I was told that it was all to do with the biometric scanners used at airports etc but I've never had any problems with them and I've never been asked to take my glasses off either.

Paddy, not had a problem with passport, have glasses on. They are part of my identity. If you see me without them, I won't see you!!
The Post Office guy was a real jobsworth! He said I would have to remove my glasses if asked, to prove my identity. Ridiculous

my licence is just about to run out and i have been driving for nearly 20 years, so i don't know where you got "most people's ran out 2 years ago"

i went to post office today to update passport, and Iwas reminded straight away to only have photo done without glasses on. its a first for me too.

I had to change to photo card when I moved house. No option.

On my photo licence is says under 4a, 12-12-09 4b 12-02-12.
I was 68 last March.

Still a bit confused as I thought a driving licence lasted for 10 years!
