Has anyone else totally disagreed with someone over the end of a film? I used to have this friendly argument with the rest of my office over the end of Basic Instinct? The majority thought the Tripplehorn character did the murders and was rightfully shot by the Michael Douglas Character. I held to the argument that the Sharon Stone character is the killer ( ie she picks up and drops the ice pick at the end. Also she frames the Jeanne Tripplehorn character ) It seems obvious to me! Am i missing something? Does anyone else agree with me?

Yes I totally agree with you - it was the Sharon Stone character who was the murderer.

I always thought it was SS: not only was she blonde (always a bad sign) but there was the underwear business as well. Guilty guilty guilty.
Definitely definitely Sharon Stone was the murderer.
we'll find out soon - they are making basic instinct 2!
It was deliberately obviously Catherine Tramell from the start. I find it such a crying shame that the film suffers from the trashy sex thriller thing all the time. I think it's one of the 90's best films, the cinematography, lighting and direction were superb, in the same league as Michael Mann.
