Congratulations to the challengers who took home £23,000 on Tuesday.
The Eggheads were left with only 2 in their team against 4 of the challengers.
One question the Eggheads couldn't answer was "Who threw a pizza at the interviewer?" Was it Sooty, Miss Piggy or Basil Brush?

Actually em the record was in series 8 - we are on series 12 now - when a team called 'Beer Today, Gone Tomorrow' actually took a mind blowing £75k!!!!

I think the record is £76,000! It was won by a single student against the five eggheads. Can't remember the date.

I confess i rarely watch the show as i find the eggheads look bored, especially Judith, smug, and know it alls.

The record was £75000 by a team of students, of which two were in the final. I've just watched it on YouTube!
