I missed the episode when Jay went to the police and they then released Andrew. Why did they release him? What evidence did Jay give without incriminating Ben and himself?

he just sai h'd seen him, but he wasnt released because of that, he was released because the jacket that had been burnt wasnt his
He went to the police to tell them Heather couldn't have been killed by Andrew as he saw him at the tube station. I think the jacket turned up a bit later and Andrew was released.

In truth Jean had seen Andrew at the tube but others persuaded her not to go!

The jacket was stolen by the good bad and ugly pensioners (Dot, Cora & Rose). I seem to recall they were discovered by someone and cant recall how it got into plods hands.
