Bullseye- Star Prize! How did the winners share it?

Maybe the wrong category for this one but it was the " friends playing together for prizes/sharing that made me stick it here! By all this I mean:- I've been watching the old Bullseye re-runs on Challenge TV (super smashing great). The Star Prize was normally either: A speedboat. B. Naff three piece suite. C. car. D. Caravan.

I always wondered then and still do now, (i really need to get out more) what they did with it- I mean how did they share it? Did they cut the sofa in half? Share the  use of the car? Or did they just sell it; fall out over it, or did they get one each?  Did you know anyone who ever won?  I know this is sad but I thought I must ask!!!!!

Not sure how they split the prizes, but I always used to think it was hilarious when people who lived miles from the coast used to win speedboats!!! I guess some people would sell the prizes and then split the proceeds?
I learned this just the other day!

Apparently, you could take a cash alternative, which is why there was always a speedboat in there - it was the same one every week 'cos any winners always went for cash!

spammy lou, I always wondered that too. I also wondered whether if the first two pairs decided not to gamble, the last pair was told that id they lost they wouldn't really lose, cos there never was a show tomy recall where no one gambled at the end.

Yes, I REALLY should get out more!!

spammylou, I love those re-runs: "We're going for the dinner service" and also wonder what happened with the prizes.  I watched a corker the other week where a bloke with a tight poodle perm and tache (lovely little drain pipe trousers) was freaking with happiness over winning something like an electric blanket.  Isn't it amazing how much technology has progressed in twenty years...meanwhile, i reckon they divided their presents up equally (as possible), whilst sitting in the speedboat (maybe they take turns in that) in their back gardens.

think my post got moved from Body and Soul.. it was late when I did it so I can't remember now anyway, but I couldn't find it!  The re-runs are excellent, I love the bad fashion and the bad prizes. Some of the things Jim bowen comes out with are priceless. I heard they were making a new series? They still have to keep old Jim don't they.
