No
Not as such.

I understood it to be part of an ongoing storyline in which the ramifications of Owen's actions will be explored.
No.
Not at all.
They didn't show his hand coming in to contact with her legs, he is an abusive bully and he'll get his come uppance.

Fay may also realise that her bad behaviour also has consequences.
not at all
"Monday's episode attracted 9.5million viewers and has led to a small number of complaints to Ofcom and ITV."

so people whinging and moaning day in day out on twitter counts more does it ? seems like a wee in the ocean.
NO
You are certainly a man of few words Baldric
i didn't see it, but that isn't a good thing to portray, i am dead set against hitting children full stop
No, the fact that his behaviour was inappropriate is part of the storyline.
em10 - they are not portraying it as a good thing, but addressing what many people see an issue.
No it did'nt offend me or I suspect all the other people with a life and who know how to differentiate between fictional drama and reality. Some people only watch telly hoping to see something to complain about. How many comp-lained about the needless suffering of those poor fish?
ha ha rattygirl, have you posted in the Daily Mail, there is a very similar remark there.
No, it's fiction. Also, why have soaps feel they have to cover 'issues'? They are there to entertain, not preach or try to prove a point.
Not in the least - I can think of one or two people (not kids) who have also deserved a slap now and then.
Ok, didn't see it, nor would i have been offended by it, though i wouldn't see it as being right at all if it happened in real life or on a soap. If they are using this as another platform to get people to discuss it as an issue, well it worked.
Nope Neti, I can proudly say the only time I ever venture near the DM is because of the odd link on here.
I don't condone hitting children, but if that horrible little brat had deliberately killed my pets and then had the temerity to smile about it to my face, I'd have given her a slap too!

Anyone else think Fay is a serial killer in training? They usually start with animals don't they? In a few years time she might have killed more than Richard Hillman, Tony Gordon and John Stape combined.
I think he should have ducked her head in the fishpond a few times.
I was a bit shocked but not offended. I wouldn't say she deserved it but she deserved a fairly harsh punishment for that. Providing the storyline that follows is appropriate, what I mean by that - is if that were my BF doing that to my kid, he'd be out on his ar5e in no time with a much more severe beating!
