Having just watched breaking news of this terrible accident with 26 cars and lorries etc, can't imagine what the emergency people are facing and indeed the poor souls injured and worse (they have said some fatalities) must be going through. Must be terrible, I wonder if anyone here knows more about it?

according to twitter the police are saying that 10 people have life-changing injuries and there are believed to be fatalities

I've just checked the news in a panic cos my parents use the M5 everyday. Its near Taunton so thankfully not where my family are, but it looks absolutely appalling from the mobile phone footage they're showing. My thoughts are with everyone affected by it.

It was different on ITV and BBC news. ITV said many fatalities and BBC said 10 injured 7 seriously - 2 lorries on fire too.. On a local news website it said it happened at J25 Bridgwater (which I know) and people were leaving the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes carnival. We pray that its not as bad as it sounds ...........

news have just said there are 40 casualtys and 10 have life changing injuries.Worse accident around here for a long time.

just put tv on bbc news after reading this, someone on a radio said 10fatalities 17 injured, but then went back to '10 injured some fatalities' so poss no proper figures til morning-going to bed now-still awake as argued with my son on mobile and he won't answer after hanging up

It's awful isn't it. Ten people believed to have lost their lives, according to a fireman at the scene.
