Has anyone been watching the repeats of top of the pops from 1976 onwards on BBC4 on Thursdays? Apart from it being very gentle and sedate compared with today, I'm sure they have messed about with the format because I remember they used to do the chart rundown just before playing the number one record at the end. Currently they are showing it at the beginning.

The rundown format has changed several times over the years. Sometimes they did 30-21 early part of the show then 20-11 in the middle and top 10 at the end(ish)
Shows how times have changed. I remember the countdown from 40 to 2...used to take forever!

I cant't believe that the DJ's were ever considered cool especially creepy uncle DLT.
Also note that they used to put on songs which (thankfully) never made the charts
I'm watching it every week, and loving it! Yes, they did play around with the format, I'm sure it will change soonish. What they have messed about with however, is that they didn't show 100 ton and a feather, even though it was advertised as being on. The reason? 100 ton and a feather was really Jonathan King. Does this mean they also won't be showing any footage of The Who? Or the Stones? I doubt it!
fortunately a bit too late for gary glitter. But why would they repeat the chart run down when it is done at the beginning?
Talking of Gary Glitter has anyone noticed how much the bloke on Deal or No Deal looks like him? The one with the bald head and goatee beard.
I find Noel Edmonds scary enough thank you....
I just assumed they were doing a compilation of the programmes. It's good to read the added info on the screen. I watch it while reading in bed. It's lovely.
