I have recorded it to watch later.
I understand that Sir Matt's family were deeply upset/angered by his portrayal.
Didn't watch it and not old enough to remember. What was wrong with it?
I watched it. It was really only about Charlton and Busby. Sir Matt was portrayed as a stand alone man. Very stand off sort of bloke. Emotionless
With all the controversy/furore surrounding previous programmes/projects covering this event one might have reasonably expected the BBC of all people to have researched it thoroughly and have obtained satisfactory clearance of their portrayals from the families concerned.

Have to say I was disappointed at the portrayal of Busby and it did descend into the Murphy and Charlton show, when each character could have been given a bit more attention to their careers and backgrounds.

The criticism by the family drew the standard response; ".......it's a drama rather than a factual account".

Am I alone in thinking that if there is a real-life story that is good enough to dramatise, then 'the facts' and the real people involved ought to be portrayed as they were/are ?
I didn't bother, the previews had been dire.
From my experience Bobby Charlton is a very nice chap.
Wor Jackie was/is the least pleasant of the two..........
micmak - it was mostly about Charlton and Murphy (the one who was played by David Tennant).
We asked for a representative from Manchester united to attend a special memorial, Bobby Charlton came. He was very nice and very approachable.
If you are talking about Jackie Milburn, jackthehat, you are talking ***.

Just watched it.
I enjoyed it.
I can't see what the uproar about 'Sir Matt' is all about, if I'm honest.
When I was 15, (42 years ago), my friends and I all used to travel to Llandudno from Bangor to work in the cafes during the school holidays. One particular morning, who did we see on Bangor station but Bobby Charlton! Of course we buzzed around him getting his autograph umpteen times over and talking AT him as only 15 year old girls do, not in a cheeky way, but asking him where he lived etc etc. He was lovely. I gave my autograph to the son of the owner of the cafe we were working in, who was a Man Utd supporter. You would have thought I'd given him a thousand pounds!!!
