Working With Snakes?

My 12 year old son is crazy about snakes, for reasons best known to himself. Any ideas for part-time work - paid or unpaid - around this interest? He's too young to work in a pet shop, and the nearest one with snakes is 20 miles away anyway.

Obviously, at twelve, he's still at school,, but how about contacting your local Zoo, i'm sure they'd be more than happy to help.
