I saw an old "Shooting Stars" (Reeves and Mortimer quiz show) on TV the other day and Fern Britton was on.

This was a few years ago and she was a lot slimmer and I have to say she looked very attractive and sexy.

Here is a picture of her from a few years ago 1988/89 (and it is hard to recognize her) - she is on the right

In fact if you go here and scrool down a bit you can find some REALLY old pictures of her

i read somewhere that she has lost the weight just by dieting or just having less on her plate

Heaven forbid Gina that some one should lose weight just from eating less and excersising more. :-)
No Videos work outs to be cashed in on, no trendy diets to brag about, and no freakish fad like all banana and peanut butter dieting. Just plain old sensible eating.
It makes you wonder why no one ever thought of it before.;-)

I think she would be alot slimmer if she'd had a gastric band, but she is still quite big. Plus I'm not sure many surgeons in the UK would have deemed her huge enough to warrant such a drastic procedure.

Sounds like she just had a huge appetite before and has just cut down her food intake and . She's very fit anyway and quite active as she does lits of cycling and walking.

She's been doing lots of exercise and eating less so that's how she's been losing it. She's also done it very gradually which points to sensible eating rather than people like Janet Jackson who had a band fitted and lost it almost overnight!

She started losing weight after doing that charity bicycle race last year, I don't know if you'll remember it but she was away for weeks. She also said on This Morning that "being married to a chef has a plus and a negative side, but she was determined to slim down"....good on her, I think she looks great.

She does look great! I was not knocking her, just thought that if she had used something to help she should have admitted it, but she obviously has not and i admire her!

Trust me....having a gastric band fitted ISN'T an easy option! I know what you mean though, why not just admit it.? I don't think she has had one though because she seems to be able to eat things on TV I certainly can't after having one fitted. I think she went a bit daft on the cycling thing and I think that is how she lost so much weight.

I don't think it could be called cheating though. It would be if she was bringing out a workout DVD or promoting an eating plan. That's what Alison Hammond has done, she has been writing in a weekly woman's mag about how she has been dieting and exercising, and it has just come out that she has had a gastric band fitted!! That is cheating, in my opinion. Fern has to answer to no-one, nor explain exactly how she has lost the weight.

she did admit it on this morning on morning a while back (sorry if someone mentioned that already)
i think go her.. fair enuf its cheating but it worked! its not like shes out the taking drugs and being pictured drunk and fighting in newspapers like some other celebs nowadays.. i dont think people should make a big deal out of it! :)
