can a solicitor place an interest on the land registry (if a house is sold) if the person who they've set it up through doesn't have the name on the mortgage (so don't have a legal right to the house).
i thought if i didn't pay a solicitor that they could register an interset as the house is in my name, but surely this can't be true for someone else who isn't on the mortgage???

any help would be advised as this solicitor is sly, and would like to know how to get it uplifted in the future (if i do sell my house) and what grounds he had to put it on in the 1st place...

Anyone can register an interest. Say for instance, I'm living here with my partner. The house is in his sole name. I work and pay my share of the living expenses. I also pay for a new kitchen and bathroom and for various repairs to be done out of my own money. What I've spent on the house would become my interest in the house. So if he decides to chuck me out one...

have bought a reposseion property off someone and they have signed the papers to say they have given me the house, im paying the rest of the mortage off and its in there name due to having arrears on it and cant swap it round until there payed off, could this affect me and could they take it back off me or not, and can i sign up for owner of land registery?? Thanks alot, have no idea and dont want to get my fingers burnted.
Would it be too much to suggest you two got together and worked something out? Cos we aren't gonna fix that little mess and argument on here.

Then later the same day you said ... i only owe my mortgage and a car loan.

but hopefully the pair of you wouldn;t come on ab and start airing your dirty laundry lol
