returning faulty items without receipt

i purchased a pair of trainers two weeks ago and the left trainer has started to split on the sole i have lost my receipt but still have the box they came in with the shops barcode and make colour and style of trainer on it can i still take it back

have you any other proof of purchase eg bank statement/credit card statement?
yes you can, no need for a reciept and you can have a refund but only at the current till price if you have no proof of purchase.
Does that mean that if the price has gone up , you can have a refund at the increased price ? :-)
If you paid by card the statement is good enough proof of purchase
