I would assume so to prove it was that person who gave the statement, otherwise anyone could write anything!

no i dont think they do as i made a witness statement and its going to ourt and the officer that took my statement never signed it , do you know what can happen to me if i withdraw my statement?

Unless they are “agreed” by both sides witness statements are not used as evidence in court.

The evidence is the oral testimony given by the witness.
