Can I get my passport photo changed

can someone tell me if its possible to get my passport photo changed, the photo I currently have was taken about 3 years ago and since then I have lost a lot of weight and look quite different. My passport isnt up for renewal and as a few years left on it.

Will I just have to keep the photo as it is and wait the few years until I get it renewed.

You can renew your passport at any time ahead of its expiration but it will, of course, be at your expense. Provided you can still be identified from your photo there is no need to renew, however if there is significant change then it is a requirement for the passport to be renewed (at your expense).
