i need some motivation to finally lose the weight I've been hauling around all my adult life.

Then I thought that maybe i could do it for money!

Can you get a bookie to take a bet with you? You know, say, odds against me losing so much weight by a certain date?

If so, how do you go about it? Just walk into any betting shop?

William Hill have done this in the past. Initially get on there web site and do an email enquiry. They take bets on all sorts of odd things.
Far as I know Ladbrokes will take a bet worded as
I will lose xx.xxkg by date, but this is by special agreement, but should be easy to set up in store-dont go at dinnertime-too busy.
You will need medical proof both before placing the bet and WHEN you claim ie Doctors statement.
Dont bother will small independent bookies as they probably wont take the bet.
Make sure you get a 'price' or odds written on the slip and initialed by cashier.
Good luck!
