i was thinking about printing video game posters and selling them on ebay, is there any laws saying i cant do this?

If you are directly copying the artwork, yes. Even the use of the games name will usually be subject to copyright or a trademark. Best not do it.

If you are copying their artwork, they can claim copyright. You should do your own artwork for the best experience.
