my husband has been charged with threatening abusive or insulting words with intent belive that immediate unlawful violence would be used.
Will the sentence be much different if he pleads guilty or not guilty and what will the likley outcome be, he only had a argument with a taxi driver swore at him because the taxi driver was being very aggressive and rude to me and my friends.he never used any threats

If the incident was as trivial as you describe Magistrates' sentencing guidelines for the offence suggest a "starting point" of a low-level community order (this is for a first-time offender pleading not guilty).

If your husband has no previous similar convictions and pleads guilty he may well receive either a fine or a Conditional Discharge.
