My house is accessed by a private road owned by  the house's builder. I have legal right of use of the road. The road is in need of repair. Who is liable for the cost of this? i.e Am I, or the owner of the road?

You will have to look at your building covenants that you will have signed when you bought your house. If you get stuck go back to the solicitor who assisted your house purchase and they will let you know in no time........ Good Luck.........

I agree with CleverClogs - should be with the deeds - we have an access road that we are entitled to use - but we have to pay for 1/5 of any maintenance.
