Telephone number- debt collectors

Hi
Been told by old flatmate to ring this number as owe debt collectors some money for old powergen bill.

Dont know name of company and sounds a bit dodge.
here's number; 0845 839 9441

know where i could find what company owns this number to check if they're ligit?

As a postman I see lots of cards with numbers asking to give them a call. They probably are legit, having bought the debt from the original debt owner.

just ring it an listen to what they say when they answer the phone...then put it down...

most companies answer by sayin gthe name of their company

Dial the number but put 141 in front of it so they can't identify you.

call them from a phone box and ask them,
they wont have a clue who you are?

I think thats an american site.

Found out it is a debt collector called advantis, but a dodgy one by sounds of it!
