I ordered 2 dresses from Warehouse's online service. Only 1 turned up in the package, but the despatch note said 2. I never signed for the package, it was just shoved through my letterbox. I didn't like the 1 dress and had seen the other in the shop since ordering, so knew I wouldn't have wanted it even if it was there. I returned the 1 dress, saying on the note that only 1 had arrived. They have now credited my a/c with 40 but still owe me 44.95 for the other one. I have emailed their customer care address twice now this week and have received no reply. How do I prove that I didn't receive 2 dresses??

You don't have to prove that. They have to show that you did receive two items - and they can't.

If you paid with a credit card try make a claim from the card company.

Thank you Rollo, never thought of that. I'm pretty sure it was on my credit card.
You are only covered by your credit card if the goods were over 100, which they weren't.
