Is it illegal to have 5 people living in a 2 bedroom flat? 2 adults in a double room with ensuite bathroom. Bunkbeds and a babys cot in the second bedroom, there is also a 2nd bathroom with bath but not ensuite. Is this classed as overcrowding. Our Landlord is claiming that it is 'illegal', is this right??

no, its not overcrowding - the baby is not classed as a 'person' until s/he reaches 1 plus you have at least 3 rooms (dont have to be bedrooms) - 2 beds and one lounge? Kitchen is not a 'room'

are all the adults on the lease? subletting is often against the lease conditions, and even having people living there permanently who the landlord dosent know about is against the lease probably too. - this is prob what he means by illegal. if they are all on the lease, i dont see where the ll is coming from as he had to have leased it to all of them
