I have a neighbour who has a Sky dish overhanging our property. I wrote to him some time ago to ask for it to be removed with a deadline for it to be taken down. That deadline has now passed without any change.

My questions now are what should I do next? Am I within my rights to remove it myself and hand it back to him intact?

Hi Ribcraft

Can I ask why you want it removed? Is it blocking out your sunlight, or maybe causing you grief of some kind, or was your permission not asked prior to your neighbour having the dish installed.

Maybe you want it removed simply 'because you can'.

I am sure your neighbour did not have his dish installed there deliberately to annoy you, it is probably there because it is the best point for reception.

A Sky dish is a fairly small and inoffensive item these days, and I find it little disheartening that we live in a society where petty mindedness seems to be the norm.

Give your neighbour a break.
i reckon half the time Sky installers are the ones who decide where a dish is going depending on the easiest place and clearest signal.

I have a flat and came home one day to find a sky dish firmly fixed right outside my bedroom window for the flat below!

Sky said 'oh the customer said you wouldnt mind'. Its still there as I have enough problems with that neighbour already and i no longer live there.
Just keep moving it so he can't get a reception.
