The funeral of the 47 year old Cheshire Dad who was kicked to death was yesterday.

Should his teenage killers serve a sentence equivalent to his loss.. ie. age 47 might reach 87, therefore 40 years denied.

Minimum sentence ( at very least) befor parole is even considered should be 40 years.

Has the time come for a complete turn around and introduce a tough response. I suspect they will be free in under 5 years.

hi doc i believe we need to get a hell of a lot tougher on crime. 5years for killing someone is nothing they will be out in there 20s and able to have a life . I believe life should mean life no time off for good behaviour or cos you improve yourself in prison by taking courses. You take a life then you lose yours in return

Hi Pix, don't know yet what the sentence will be.

Also what on earth do you do with a 10 year old who is part of a gang stoning a man to death.

What on earth can be done.

All these situations are down to a lack of discipline. It started years ago when school punishments were banned. Then parents punishments. The courts are knackered now.

We have got to toughen up the system, sorry if a few kids get executed.

I shed no tears for the 14 year old hanging himself. His mother said " he was let down by the system" The blame is alwaYS ON SOMEONE ELSE.
love that answer legend why are you not prime minister lol

Hi leg, great idea, it will certainly work.

The country has no balls to do it though.
Im with you legend! If they cant behave in society and play by the rules, then get them out.
i agree doc the parents never except the blame lays with them. my eldest boys are 9 and certainly know right from wrong. I would be mortified if they did anything that meant the police were involved. I hope and pray i have instilled the right attitude into all my 4 and they are constantly told they know what is right and what isnt. They have good friends around them and have even dropped a very good friend who thought it was funny to scratch peoples cars. They knew it was wrong ( his parents thought it was funny ) so walked away. I was so proud
I hear Guantanamo Bay has a few vacancies. This would also keep the PC Brigade happy. Just think, 30 years in the Caribbean !!
Hey this is a great discussion, I got a hammering on one recently for saying the country was too lenient on sentencing.
i get really annoyed that the ones who are victims get the raw deal. We seem to care more about the feelings of the minority than anything else. ARRRGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its because of all the 'human rights' cr@p
hate the words "human rights"

It is a massive problem, even now I have no idea what I would have done with the Jamie Bulger killers.

They say retribution is wrong but something must be done, swift and harsh. We cannot have many more innocent people killed on the streets.
There seems to be 1 or 2 per day in the press.

How about hiring Charles Bronson ( Death wish 2007)
Question Author
The time has come to ditch " Human Rights". Biggest load of sh1te ever.

Vandal on roof causing damage, response, Burger and chips to comply with human rights.

My response, "We have a sharpshooter who will blow your kneecaps off in 2 mins" " I am counting now" Bang.

There wont be too many eager to follow ( crawl) in their footsteps.
i am friends with the daughter of one of the paramedics who "attended " to jamie bulger. To this day it haunts him what he saw and never speaks about it all he has ever said was how shocked he was that too small boys had such hatred to do what they did. Still cant believe they are out and have there identitys protected. Makes my blood boil
Question Author
I will never understand the Bulger incident Pix.

My gut feeling is that they ( Venables and Thompson) should have been put to sleep.

I am sorry if that is harsh. I cannot imagine the horrors James went through. To have seen the results must have been unimaginable.
Doc,
It is a pity we do not live by the motto anymore. "An eye for an eye"
Fed up of hearing parents blame the system.
They are old enough to know right from wrong, even at an early age.
let them rot for the rest of their lives.
Sorry, that is my opinion on louts and violence now!
Question Author
Hi Cruella, yes we need to turn everything around and say we will not tolerate these terrible situations anymore.

Children ( yes children) should live in fear and dread if they harbour violent thoughts and carry out any sort of violence to anybody or anything.

Just were did it all start to go wrong. It is different now compared to 40 years ago.

I once at 11 years old broke a gas lamp glass in the strret with a snowball. I hid in the house for a WEEK. I believed I would go to prison.

Sad thing is that theres nothin we can do about it with all the 'do gooders' on the human rights and the greedy defence lawyers (not all of them before I get a kickin) who fight the cases of the guilty.
